autopoiesis, or autopsy? You choose

Any person or organization that doesn’t evolve to changing circumstances is fated to irrelevance.

I once baffled a roomful of people by showing a slide that simply (sic) read:

autopoiesis, or autopsy? You choose…

If this statement perplexes you, then you have a choice:

  • ignore the statement
  • investigate the purpose of my words

The first option is instantly available to you and will take no further commitment of your time. The second option may take you off on an interesting tangent, I sincerely hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.

Either way, that’s all from me – I don’t want to disrupt your present equlibrium any more than I may have done already.

    Is the ‘choice’ a choice? There are many other actions the viewer can take. One would be not to investigate the purpose of the words and examine the ‘text’ within the context in which it was presented.

    My art tutor’s would no doubt have challenged me about the comma before the ‘or’

    Its more interesting now that it has been re-presented and broadcast: I’m here via twitter;

    …and, I hope, the apostrophe after tutor!

      RE:”…and, I hope, the apostrophe after tutor!”

      … they might, but it would be staying from the point. I can’t respond on there be-half.

      tyhe’d be trying tom make the point about Derrida – how he sent back the manuscript unread because of the copywrite in the preface: the point being something about context.

      Thanks ‘Freddy’!
