Computing reports Gartner estimates that the worldwide market for IT in 2008 will be $3.4 trillion, up by 7% on the figures for 2007. I guess that makes the size of the Trillion Dollar Bonfire almost $2 trillion (per year) of disappointment and cost; based on 50 to 60% of investments failing to achieve their intended returns.
