Listening to a radio discussion this morning, the presenter observed that the Trillion is the new Billion. This prompted me to look back at my own records.
I first started writing about the Billion Dollar Bonfire on 27th December 2001 and decided to upgrade my focus to the Trillion Dollar Bonfire, on 6th July 2006.
When I first promoted the Trillion prefix, in the summer of 2006, I generally received raised eyebrows in return. Because nobody talked about Trillions – millions yes, billions too but never trillions. They do now though. Maybe I need to think about quadrillions if I want to stay ahead.
